What is the

Global South Project?

This project is a joint initiative by civil society in South Africa, Brazil and the Philippines, aimed at fighting corporate profit shifting, tax and wage evasion from below.

The Global South Project’s key objectives are to:

  • Enable grassroots movements to understand, identify, and combat illicit financial flows and profit shifting; especially in the extractives sector.
  • Advocate for progressive reforms to national and global tax systems, taking into account the perspective of Global South countries and communities at the coalface of multinational corporate economic activities.
  • Engage in original research aiming to uncover cases of suspected corporate tax abuses.
