The Alternative Information & Development Centre, the Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development, Iglesias y Minería and the Justiça nos Trilhos will be hosting a webinar on “Understanding Illicit Financial Flows from the Perspective of Workers and Communities in the Global South”, at 11:00 GMT.

This event is specifically aimed at non-experts and ordinary members of the public interested in these issues.

In the Global South Project, organisations such as Justiça nos Trilhos, the Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development, and the Alternative Information & Development Centre have been grappling with these questions while building and support the capacity of popular formations to fight for corporate accountability and economic justice. In 2022, they hosted the first Global School, an event which serves as a platform for delegates from trade unions, community organisations, and activists from across the Global South to engage with issues of corporate tax and wage evasion, exchange strategies and ideas for resistance, and foster South-South solidarity in the face of growing precarity and repression. This event serves as a precursor to the Second Global School, aimed at future delegates as well as the general public.
